Dr. Shine’s acupuncture session is tailored to the individual requirements of his client, whether that’s helping with anxiety or offering effective pain relief. His session begins with a consultation, where he will do a full medical history and be looking to identify the cause of any problems or imbalances. From there a selection of points will be chosen. He will then insert several very fine needles which will be left in position for around 15-20 minutes. Acupuncture is typically painless and patients often report a great sense of relaxation during and after the treatment. Over a course of treatment cumulative benefit can be seen. Dr. Shine Acupuncture session also includes other techniques such as dry cupping, manipulative therapy and acupressure.
Dr. Shine will personalise your oil based massage by deciding which of his extensive massage techniques to apply and where on the body to focus on, depending on your particular needs. The pressure of the massage can also be adjusted to suit you. He is able to manipulate muscle tissue to restore proper alignment which will also improve circulation, cellular oxygenation, skin elasticity and the client’s overall range of motion and flexibility.
This is an ancient therapy in which the therapist uses their fingers and thumbs to apply precise alternating pressure to specific areas on the hands and feet. These areas correspond to the various body systems. Sensations felt in the feet/hands by the client or therapist may indicate an imbalance in these areas. Working these areas may help to restore balance to the body.
The client remains clothed except for shoes and socks/tights. Feet are cleansed prior to treatment.
This is one of the most popular home based therapies in India. A powerful calming and relaxing massage over the head, neck, shoulder and upper back. Conducted in a sitting posture using Ayurvedic medicated oil. This treatment is ideal for anyone who carries stress over their shoulders and neck. It helps to improve the quality of sleep, nourishes the hair roots, and is helpful in managing recurrent headaches. Marma / vital points of head and neck are addressed to alleviate stress, release tension and stiffness, relieve pain and improve energy and wellness.
Dr Shine’s Yoga sessions cover traditional Hatha yoga therapy & exercise therapy, but also incorporate alignment and therapeutic techniques, customising each private session to the unique needs of the body. Yoga is extremely beneficial to improve functional strength, balance, flexibility, power, breathing techniques, visualisation skills and focus.
